You can read more about the fiduciary duties of board members in this Association of Governing Boards (ASG) document.
The Board of Trustees of the University of Tulsa recently approved a radical academic restructuring of the university. In response, the faculty accused board members of breaching fiduciary duties of care and loyalty. The faculty sent a letter requesting that the attorney general of Oklahoma sue Tulsa’s board for breach of fiduciary duty and waste.
Earlier this year, SLU’s Interim Provost announced the formation of an Academic Portfolio Review Committee. Tulsa’s restructuring began with an eerily similar Provost’s Program Review Committee.
Members of the SLU community can follow the work of the committee here.
